Is one better than the other. I normally go fast when doing lots of non stop pushups. Should I be doing this? And what benefits are there in slow pushups?
Carlton Williams, a 52 year old Welsh construction worker living in Australia broke the Guinness World Record on 27 May 2017 by doing a scorching 2,682 pushups. He did it (after his previous record had been broken) "to prove I'm the best."
On May 1, 1989 in Birmingham, UK, Paddy Doyle finished off with 19,325 pushups in 12 hours to add another record to his already impressive lineup. In 2009 the Guiness Book of Records recognised him as "The World Fitness Endurance Champion."
Minoru Yoshida from Japan is the world record holder for the most non stop pushups. In October 1980 he completed 10,507 non stop pushups. This was the last non stop pushups record to be recorded by Guinness World Records who now have a new category of the most pushups in 24 hours. The athlete is allowed to take as many breaks as they need.
